Update: Police Still Searching For Bank Robber

The bank on Jericho Turnpike was robbed Tuesday and police have described and are looking for the suspect.

A man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing the Bank of America on Jericho Turnpike and S. Oyster Bay Rd. at 11:34 a.m. on Tuesday. 

Police have released surveillance photos and video from inside the bank. The video shows the suspect walking into the bank, passing one bystander to the front desk, then slipping a note to the teller and fleeing on foot with a handful of cash.

Police said the demand note threatened with a gun and demanded money, and the suspect had no vehicle at the scene. The robbery took less than 30 seconds. Watch the video to the right.

There were 11 employees and two customers present at the time of the robbery, and no injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20-24 years of age, 5'6", 160 lbs., wearing a light colored winter cap, dark colored jacket and blue jeans.

By noon Tuesday, Nassau County Police were on scene and had the bank shut down with a perimeter set up. Patrons were being turned away. The bank was re-opened at around 2:30 p.m. with about five people waiting to get inside.
