This is interesting.
I mean "who" conducts Any Business "door to door" anymore...Other than Jehova WItnesses.
You would think they would be more imaginative, but these Wolf Packs come into neighborhoods not only going door to door, but looking to see who is home, who is not, what the escape routes are on "through streets" and through yards, to an awaiting car accomplice who transported them to the area, to begin with.
Whenever I see or encounter these types I get a description of them, where they are going door to door, and I make a non-emergency call to the precinct police.
It;s the Only way to stop it !

That plan is exactly what police want you to do in the case of suspicious persons or activity! At November's North Syosset neighborhood watch meeting, they said they'd rather come check it out and find nothing than have you not call them and you end up in danger.
They had some good safety tips too that are worth revisiting for cases like the one you mentioned: http://patch.com/A-nkQv
