Richard Knox to lead presentation on 'the Master of Suspense.'

Alfred Hitchcock, the "Master of Suspense," directed many films that have become an indelible part of cinema history. He also pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres.

Using short clips from the director’s films along with excerpts from the many interviews that he gave over the course of his career, Richard Knox present a few of the memorable scenes from Rear Window, Vertigo, Notorious, and Spellbound at the Syosset Library on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

The program will also show how Hitchcock used various camera and editing techniques to manipulate the audience's emotions and how the film director used his associations with graphic artist Saul Bass and composer Bernard Herrmann as a vehicle to further enhance his films.
