This sale attracts people who buy these items, mark them up hugely, and resell them (usually on the internet). Can't the library dedicate some manpower (hopefully library volunteers) to cull out items that have value beyond what is charged at this sale? Then, let the library sell them online and make the profit, instead of people, who in many cases, are not even residents of the community.. If there are legal impediments to this under the library's current structure, there must be a creative way to make this permissible. The more revenue the library takes in, the more our taxes will stay under control.
