Cactus for a Cause

Cactus Salon and Day Spa is holding a charity event this Sunday.

A salon’s open for business on a Sunday?

What could this be about?

It’s all about a good cause - two, that is.  This Sunday, Jan. 23, Cactus Salon and Day Spa, located on Jericho Turnpike near Mario’s Pizza, is hosting a special charity event called New Year, New You.

“Cactus Salon is thrilled to be able to hold this fundraiser,” said Karen Vito, Marketing Director for Cactus Salon Total Beauty. “We are very proud that our staff members have generously donated their time for such worthy causes."

100 percent of the proceeds, obtained from bookings and the fundraiser festivities, are going to The Carol Kestenbaum Foundation and One is Greater Than None; equally divided amongst the two organizations.

If you are wondering how this all came about, you have to go to the resourceful source.  Kerry Gillick-Goldberg, publicist for One is Greater Than None, is the six degrees of connection.

“While attending a networking event I met Rita Kestenbaum, founder of the organization named after her daughter and I am also very friendly with the Cactus Salon spa manager, Yolanda Tillman," said Gillick-Goldberg. " So creating a collaboration by culling these amazing resources was a natural course of events."

Start booking now for there are hundreds of treatments and salon services available to choose from under the following headings:  hair styling, color and chemical services, waxing, make up, nails, facials, massages, and therapeutic treatments.

Besides the wide array of services offered, there will be a 50/50 raffle, wine sampling from the Northport Tasting Room & Wine Cellar, hors d'oeuvres, and Chinese and Silent auctions consisting of the following prizes:
