Happy Wednesday to you, and welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today." Each weekday we'll be putting a little extra spotlight on some of the things that are going on in the Syosset area. While we do our best to keep up with what's going on, we can always use your help. If you don't see something that should be on the list, don't be afraid to let us know.
- The hosts the Program at 11 a.m. "Join us as we explore and discuss the fascinating history of our community. Please check the library website or the Local History Center Online for more information about this program. Refreshments will be served." The event is free and open to all.
- The library also at 2 p.m. - "Noted lecturer Dr. Joseph Kenner will lead a discussion about key events of 2010 and implications for 2011 and beyond. Join your neighbors in what is likely to be a lively, year-end discussion."
- The Syosset wrestling team at 6:15 p.m. at the high school.
- The @ Herricks high school in a non-league matchup scheduled for 7 p.m.
- The Baylis (at HBT), Berry Hill, Walt Whitman & Willits elementary schools .
