It'll be like a good old-fashioned country fair, complete with great food and drink, raffles, a brass band (Civil War-style), amusement and a country store. It'll be great fun for everyone.
The hope is to have it one the church lawn, but should the weather be foul, it'll be in the gym.
The following day, Sunday, Sept. 19, we'll have a special worship service at 5:30 p.m. to continue the celebration. That, too, will also feature some good 1860 flourishes. Additionally, in recognition of the pastoral leadership of our early church years from Oyster Bay Presbyterian Church, their current pastor, the Rev. Jeffrey Prey, will be the special guest preacher.
