Get Out, Syosset: Weekend Planner for July 29-31

Lots to do this weekend.

An evening of comedy, an Italian feast, and a historic baseball game are just a couple of weekend events to help you get out and enjoy the summer nights:

1.

Why Go: See the King of Comedy who started it all dancing at the 1964 World’s Fair in New York. His act includes jokes, songs and stories.

Where/When: Church of St. Rocco, 18 Third Street, Glen Cove, 516-676-2482, saintrocco.org., Thursday July 28 through Sunday July 31. Thursday and Friday @ 6-11 p.m.,  Saturday @ 1-11 p.m. and Sunday @ 3-10 p.m.

Why Go: Food, food and more food. Also rides, games and entertainment.

Pricing: Free.

3.  Historic Baseball Tournament

Where/When: Old Bethpage Village Restoration, 18 Third Street, Glen Cove, 516-572-8400, Saturday July 30 and Sunday July 31 @ 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Why Go: See Vintage baseball clubs throughout the northeast who will join the Old Bethpage Village baseball clubs in playing two days of 19th century rules baseball in the uniforms, style and rules of several early baseball eras with a concert by the Old Bethpage Village brass band in the afternoon.

Pricing: $10, $7 ages 5-12 or 60 and older.

4. Seussical The Musical

Where/When: St. Killian’s, 485 Conklin St. Farmingdale, 516-249-0127, Saturday July 30 @ 8 p.m. and Sunday July 31 @ 3 p.m.

Why Go: See the musical based on the characters and stories of Dr. Seuss.

Pricing: $12.00.

5.  A Grand Night for Singing

Where/When: Hofstra University, Monroe Hall, Hempstead, 516-463-6622, Friday July 29 @ 8 p.m.

Why Go: Hear the delightful Tony Award nominated musical revue showcasing the unforgettable music of Rodgers and Hammerstein. Featuring songs from The King and I, The Sound of Music, Cinderella and more.

Pricing: $28.00, $23 senior citizens over 65.
