1. “Hairspray”

Why Go: See the musical based on the film of the same name by John Waters and set in 1962 in Baltimore, which follows a girl as she pursues stardom as a dancer on a local TV show and rallies against racial segregation.

2. Autofest Car Show
When/Where: Sears Auto Center, 195 N. Broadway Hicksville, 516-882-5022, nyautofest.com., Sunday July 17 @ 8 a.m.
Why Go: The New York AutoFest™ is a series of car shows held throughout the Summer. All shows help raise funds for charitable organizations such as the Knights of Columbus. There will be live entertainment, food, hundreds of cars, trucks and bikes on display.
Pricing: $5.00 free for children under 12, $20 to show car.
3. Flea Market
Where/When: Life Enrichment Center at Oyster Bay, 45 E. Main Street, Oyster Bay, 516-922-1770, Friday @ 10-a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday @ 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Why Go: Variety of items for purchase including furniture, and china, proceeds benefit the center.
Pricing: Free.
4. Huntington Summer Arts Festival: Harry Chapin: A Celebration in Song
Where/When: Heckscher Park, 2 Prime Ave., at Route 25a, Huntington, 631-271-8423. huntintonarts.org., Saturday July 16 @ 8:30 p.m.
Why Go: Celebrate the life and career of the late singer/songwriter/social activist Harry Chapin.
Pricing: Free (bring canned goods for Long Island Cares!).
5. Creedence Clearwater Revisited and Three Dog Night in Concert
Where/When: NYCB Theatre at Westbury, 960 Brush Hollow Rd. Westbury, 516-334-0800, livenation.com, Sunday, July 17 @ 8 p.m.
Why Go: Groups perform 70’s rock and pop hits, hear hits such as "Mama Told Me Not To Come," "Eli's Coming" and "Good Golly Miss Molly."
