Get Out: Weekend Planner, July 22-24

Here are some fun ideas for the family this weekend.

There’s a lot going on this weekend both in and around Syosset to help you get out and enjoy the summer nights.

1.  “Bye Bye Birdie”

Why Go: See the rock and roll musical classic set in 1960 as teen idol Conrad Birdie gets drafted into the army. Outside the Haybarn/Visitor’s Center, bring blanket or chair.

2. Classic Camp and Horror Film Festival

Where/When: , 423 Park Ave., Huntington, 631-423-7611, www.CinemaArtsCentre.org., weekly Saturdays through August 20 @ 11 p.m.

Why Go: 35 mm screenings of weird dark movies, double features plus the Rocky Horror Picture Show Showcast.

Pricing: $13 for double feature, $9 general admission

3. Centurion Cruisers Car Club Charity Car Show

Where/When: , 477 Jericho Turnpike, Syosset, 516-546-8381, Sunday July 24 @ 9 a.m.

Why Go: A car show with trophies awarded, proceeds benefit Nassau/Suffolk Chapter of the Autism Society and the families of two fallen Nassau County Police Offices, Michael Califano and Geoffrey Breitkopf.

Pricing: Free for spectators, $15 to show car and lunch

Where/When: , 205 Jackson Ave., Syosset, Thursday, Friday and Saturday @ 8 p.m., Sunday @ 2 p.m.

Why Go:See the live performance of “Footloose” performed by St. Paul’s Centerstage Theatre, the musical based on the story of an upbeat teen who moves to a small town where, thanks to an uptight clergyman dancing and rock music banned.

Pricing: $15 adults, $12 seniors, free under 12.

Why Go: Town of Oyster Bay presents Dean Karahalis and the Concert Pops of Long Island - "Sing and Swing."
