1. Greek Village Festival

3. Film- The Fighter

Why Go: See the screening of “The Fighter” staring Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams, The film centers on the life of a professional boxer and his older half-brother. Winner of two academy awards.

Why Go: For the specialty foods and desserts from Portugal as well as music, dancing, rides and games

5. Concert: Greek American Night
Where/When: Hempstead Turnpike and Merrick Ave., East Meadow, NY 516-0200, nassaucountyny.gov, Friday June 10 @ 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Hear live musical performance of Greek music, part of the International Music Nights, presented by Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, bring blankets or chairs.
