Get Out: Weekend Planner, June 17-19

Here's what's going on for the family this weekend.

The weekend promises warm weather, and it is also Father's Day Sunday. It should be a good time to get out to enjoy the weather. 

1. Celebrate Star Wars

Where/When: Cradle of Aviation, Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, East Garden City, 516-572-4111, www.cradleofaviation.org, Saturday June 18 @ 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Why Go: For all of the Star Wars fans both young and old, see a variety of costumed characters who will roam the museum to take pictures with visitors. This is presented by The 501st Legion which is an all-volunteer worldwide organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate.

Pricing: Free with museum admission - $14 adults, $12 children, 2-12.

2. Concerts at Eisenhower Park

Where/When: , Hempstead Turnpike and Merrick Ave., East Meadow, 516-572-0200, nassaucountyny.gov., Friday June 17, Saturday June 18 and Sunday June 19 @ 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Musical performances in parking fields 6 and 6A, part of the International Music Nights. Friday – African American Night, Saturday – Caribbean American Night, Sunday – Indian American Night.

Pricing: Free.

3. Presentation: Indian Classical Dances

Where/When:  , 99 Pell Lane, Syosset, 516-802-3366, Friday June 17 @ 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Mundra Dance Studio presents an evening of Indian classical and semi classical dances, all proceeds go toward tsunami relief efforts in Japan.

Pricing: $25 adults, $10 students.

4. Glee – Live in Concert

Where/When: Nassau Coliseum, 1255 Hempstead Turnpike, Uniondale, 516-794-9300, nassaucoliseum.com, Saturday June 18 @ 8 p.m.

Why Go: See the cast from Glee from the TV show perform live on stage.

Pricing: $54.50, $94.50.

5. Films: Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein

Where/When: , 423 Park Ave., Huntington, 631-423-7611, http://summercampcinema.com., Saturday June 18, @ 11 p.m.

Why Go: See the double feature screenings of “Frankenstein” (1931 and “Bride of Frankenstein” (1935), part of Brett Sherris’ Summer Camp Classic camp and Horror Film Festival.
