Grab and Go: Aug. 19-21

Here is a weekend planner for the kids.

This weekend offers a variety of things for both kids and parents to enjoy.

1.  Children Sail on the Christeen

Where/When: Waterfront Center, 1 West End Ave., Oyster Bay, 516-922-3200, Friday Aug. 19 @ 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Why Go: Raise the sails, tie knots, and touch an assortment of sea creatures on a sail on the Christeen. Children will also learn about Oyster Bay. Trip is lead by the Coast Guard and is for children 7 and older. Please register.

2.  Summer Sundays: Agricultural Activities for Children

Where/When: Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, 20 Sagamore Hill Rd., Cove Neck, 922-4788, Sunday Aug. 21 @ 2 p.m.

Why Go: Hands on agricultural activities for children.

Pricing: Free.

3. Dora the Explorer’s Pirate Adventure, Live on Stage

Where/When: Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Avenue Garden City. (516) 224-5871, licm.org. Saturday and Sunday Aug. 20th  and 21st @ 11 a.m., 1 p.m. & 3 p.m.

 Why Go: Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer live on stage, followed by a meet and greet with the cast, presented by Plaza

Pricing: $12.00.

4. Storybook Stroll

Where/When: Old Westbury Gardens, 71 Old Westbury Rd., Old Westbury, 516 333-0048, Saturday Aug. 20 @ noon.

Why Go: A series of educator-led thematic tours and activities with The Giving Tree. Lend an ear to Shel Silverstein's classic story chronicling the selflessness of nature. Learn how trees are the ultimate gift to people and sample some of the tasty delights trees provide.

Pricing: Free.

5. Key Wilde and Mr. Clarke

Where/When: Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Ave., Garden City, 516-224-5871, Sunday and Monday Aug. 21 & 22 @ 2 p.m.

Why Go: See a musical show for families featuring original and interactive music for ages 3 and up.

Pricing: $4.00 with museum admission.
