Here are some fun ideas for the Labor Day weekend.
It’s Labor Day Weekend and most kids will start school next week. We’ve come up with some fun things to do on their last summer weekend.
1. Gills, Fins and Scales: A Fish Dissection

2. Delighting in de Kooning
Where/When: , 11 Davis Parkway, Garden City, 516-224-5800, daily @ 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. through Sept. 2
Why Go: Through painting and music, children from ages 3 and up can learn about abstract art and what inspired famous artist Willem de Kooning.
Pricing: $3 with museum admission
3. Family Sunday at the Museum
Where/When: Nassau County Museum of Art, 1 Museum Drive, Roslyn Harbor, 516-484-9337, weekly Sunday @ 1-3 p.m. through Sept. 25 (excludes Sept. 11)
Why Go: Enjoy a family walk-through of the exhibition with supervised craft activities. Special family guides of the main exhibition are available in the galleries.

4. Disney’s Camp Rock
Where/When: CM Performing Arts Center, 931 Montauk Hwy., Oakdale, 631-218-2810, Saturday, Sept. 3 @ 2 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 4 @ 7 p.m.
Why Go: This Disney musical is based on the hit Disney Channel original movies. It revolves around a group of summer camp kids, who are having the time of their lives at Camp Rock until the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake threatens their camp's very existence. To keep Camp Rock doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown.

5. Movie: Spy Kids: All The Time in the World

Why Go: See the adventures of Marissa Cortez Wilson, who has it all. She's married to a famous television reporter, has a new baby and intelligent twin step kids. However, her world turns upside down when the Timekeeper threatens to take over the planet and she- once a top agent- is called back into action. Rated PG
