Hello, and happy Tuesday to you! Welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today". There is a lot going on this week that Syosset Patch will keep you updated on, so be sure to check with us every weekday morning at 7 a.m. to make sure you are kept in the loop!

  1. It's very possible we will be getting some snow late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. A , with up to a foot of snow a possibility. While experts agree that it won't be nearly as much snow as the that rocked the northeast, it's still something we should keep in mind. Our MEWsing's column that runs on Monday's , and spoke to some local workers on the snow-cleanup efforts in Syosset.
  2. Author Ghita Schwarz will be at Syosset Public Library at 2 p.m. to discuss and Displaced Persons. The book will be sold by the Friends of the Library at the event. The event is free and open-to-all. 
  3. The Syosset girls basketball team will try to when they host Sewanhaka in a non-league matchup at 4:30 p.m.
  4. The OLMA basketball team has a huge home conference game against St. John the Baptist at 5:45 p.m.
