5 Things You Need to Know for Monday.

Hello and welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today", our daily column that keeps you in the loop of what's going on in your town. 

Unfortunately the Jets will not be playing in the Superbowl after they were eliminated by the Steelers Sunday night. The loss also eliminates all the great Jets story ideas we had for this week. 

But there is still much going on in Syosset this week. So, without further ado, here are just 5 Things to keep in mind for Monday:

  1. takes place at the at 2 p.m. The lecture is on those three 20th Century photographers, whose works will be featured at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from November 10, 2010 through April 10, 2011. 
  2. For the children, head back to the library at 7 p.m. for - a free 45-minute program for kids, aged from three years old to kindergarten. Call the library at 516-921-7161 to check for availability. 
  3. at the North Shore Synagogue, 7 p.m. - Parents learn how they can help their teenage children with managing their emotional and social struggles of being a teenager. Free and open to all. 
  4. at the Syosset library runs from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. 
  5. Check back with Syosset Patch for stories throughout the day - stories today include a new(9 a.m.), an update on gas prices (11 a.m.) and a new  column (1 p.m.)
