Martin Silver Named Honorary Chairman of Toys for Tots

Syosset liquor importer honored for participation in holiday charity.

Martin Silver, owner of Syosset-based Star Industries, was honored by United States Marines for his participation in the local Toys for Tots Drive kickoff at the Coral House in Baldwin recently.

As Honorary Vice Chairman, Silver was awarded with a plaque for his continued dedication to Long Island.

“I could not be happier to participate in such a worthy cause” Silver said. “The Marines are a group of truly outstanding men and women, and I am honored to help them give back to the underprivileged members of our community.”

The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program was created to collect new, unwrapped toys during the months of October, November and December each year for less fortunate children in the community during Christmas time.

Silver, leader of one of the nation’s largest importers of choice wines and spirits including Georgi Vodka, Caribaya Rum and Llord’s Cordials, has been actively involved in this charitable endeavor.
