No. 49: Drive over to the Toy Drive

Fox Hollow is holding its third annual Toys for Tots toy drive with a grand celebration

For this month's 100 Things to do in Syosset , head over to Fox Hollow with the kids on Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. with an unwrapped toy to hand off to the 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines.

Besides Fox Hollow conducting a special ceremony to honor a WWII veteran, James Gerald Dillon, his grandchildren will be on hand to proudly recite the Pledge of Allegiance to officially kick-off this well-attended event while the Marines division from Garden City perform their Color Guard routine.

Make sure to partake in the many festivities: watch two dance routines, Man With the Bag and Rag Doll performed by school-age girls from North Shore Studio of Dance; sing along to holiday favorites and groove to some top 40 hits by Top Hat Entertainment; have the kids enjoy face painting, removable tattoos, ornament making, and composing a letter to Santa (all happening at the activities and craft area), arranged by VaVoom Events. And venture outdoors to explore fire trucks from the Syosset Volunteer Fire department.

If you haven't done so already, you may want your little one to get his or her photo taken with Santa, provided by ADA Studios. And if you desire a delectable treat, Fox Hollow is graciously proving the desserts.

As a special highlight, stick around at the close of the evening to view the tree lighting ceremony.
