What is there to do in Syosset?
In a weekly series that aims to shine a spotlight on the attractions exclusive to Syosset, you will see a feature that will do a countdown on Patch every Tuesday called "100 Things to Do in Syosset".
This week's 100 Things to Do is about skating all year long. That's right - it doesn't have to be the winter to enjoy some gliding on the ice.

They also have several youth hockey programs: Mini Islanders from ages two until five as well as Hockey 101 and Hockey 201 for ages five until 12.
As a special treat for the experienced young figure skater, they have the Iceworks IceBreakers, a synchronized skating team that competes within the eastern states.
Although Iceworks is the official practice facility for the New York Islanders, viewing this NHL team practicing is off-limits, but you can observe some local junior and amateur league teams that rent the rinks such as the L.I. Royals, the L.I. Gulls, and an all woman's team, Lady Islanders, all which are potential stepping stones to college or pro level.
