Saving in Syosset: Ben's Deli, Spa Week

This week, treat yourself and have people do things for you - read on to save on catered holiday meals and spa services.

Last week, we talked about all of the great deals that you can get at Prime Time Butcher to help out with dinner.  With the spring holidays quickly approaching, many local businesses are offering special deals to help out with cooking and catering for large families.  Stop at Party City to put together your Easter Baskets at discount prices and then relax while you take advantage of Spa Week this week.

1.   Ben’s Deli (7971 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury – 516.496.4236)

Ben’s Complete Holiday Dinner is catering for 10 guests for $299 and includes two appetizers, soup, one entrée, two sides, plus extras: Cranberry-Pineapple Compote, Cole Slaw, Carrot Tsimmes and macaroons for dessert.  Fruit salad is available to purchase for $25.99 as well as a ceremonial Passover plate for $13.99. Please note that Ben’s Deli’s menu is kosher style and they are closed for the holiday beginning 4pm Monday, April 18, reopening Wednesday, April 27.

2.  Iavarone Bros. Quality Foods (7929 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury – 516.921.5400)

Iavarone Bros.’s Easter Dinner Package will feed between 10 and 14 people and costs $349.  Choose a starter, green salad, main course, two trimmings, potato and dessert, plus 1 quart Gravy and a hand-made Easter bread.  There are so many choices that sound delicious – Gorgonzola & Walnut Salad, Spinach & Artichoke Casserole, Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Strufoli are a few.

3.  Fairway Market (50 Manetto Hill Mall, Plainview – 516.937.5402 x149)
Fairway Market is offering catering for both holidays. 

The Passover meal is a complete dinner for 8 for $159 and includes a complimentary Seder Plate.  For dinner, enjoy Matzoh Ball soup and Gefilte Fish with red Horseradish, a choice of either Brisket or Beef or Herb-roasted Cornish Hens (both with flourless gravy) for entrée, sides of potato latkes, vegetable tsimmes and green beans and flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Also offered is a full Passover a la carte menu, which includes all of the above items plus more. Dinner items and baked goods are prepared kosher style for Passover and are not certified kosher for Passover. Orders for Monday & Tuesday Seders must be placed by Wednesday, April 13.

Fairway is also offering a variety of complete oven-ready Easter dinners ranging from a Boneless Leg of Lamb dinner for 6 for $109 to a Turkey dinner for 12 for $199.  Dinners also include vegetables, sides and dessert, depending on which package is chosen.  Also available is an a la carte Easter menu including appetizers, salads, main courses, desserts and more.

4. Party City (8063 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury – 516.692.4378)

Once your holiday meal is planned and taken care of, visit Party City for great values to fill your Easter Baskets.  Baskets & pails start at $0.99, bagged Easter Grass is as low as $0.33 and plastic Easter Eggs start at $0.79.  Get your fill of candy at 15 pieces for $1, select candy eggs & Peeps at $0.99 and select bagged candy is 25% off. Dress your table with spring & Easter patterned plates, cups, napkins and tablecloths at 50% off.

5. Spa Week

Take some time for yourself in anticipation of the holidays and the kids being off from school for the long vacation.  Spa Week is a bi-annual event that enables customers to visit high end spas and receive treatments for $50 each that would normally cost much more.  This week only, April 11 through 17, visit Red Door Spa (7917 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury – 516.364.6780) for a 50 minute Spa Week Stress Melter, Facial or Pedicure for $50.  Spa services can not be booked online – call Red Door Spa directly and mention Spa Week.
