Sportime Fitness and Racquetball to Attempt Zumba World Record

The class will benefit the Children's Heart Center at Cohen Children's Medical Center North Shore-LIJ Health System.

 in Syosset will attempt to break the unofficial world record for the largest Zumba class on Saturday, May 7, when they hold a fundraising event with all proceeds going to the Children's Heart Center at the Cohen Children's Medical Center North Shore-LIJ Health System. 

The current record is 250 participants; Sportime hopes to break the record by a huge margin. The Master class will be led by Dorie Wexler and Zumba Jammer, and will take place outdoors in the club’s parking lot at the corner of Gordon Drive and Jericho Turnpike in Syosset, from noon to 1:30pm.

Immediately following the master class the fun will continue with a Zumba Fitness Party from 1:30 to 3:00 pm featuring Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold and Zumbatomic for kids.

Early Bird tickets are a $20 donation per person, same day tickets will be $25 each. A raffle will offer further donation opportunities at the event.

The Children’s Heart Center at Cohen Children’s Medical Center is the only program on Long Island that offers comprehensive pediatric cardiology care including pediatric open heart surgery. The physicians, nurses and support staff are experts in the field of children’s heart disease and provide multidisciplinary services—including noninvasive echocardiography (ECG)—to diagnose fetal, newborn, and infant heart abnormalities.
