Here were the headlines topping Syosset Patch this week:

Suffolk County Police have identified the victim as Jean Carr, of Syosset. Carr was crossing Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor at 6:01 p.m. when she was struck by a 2002 Honda Accord, police said. The driver, Rita Wallace, had a suspended license, reported cops.

Syosset High School students have joined the hugely popular Harlem Shake dance craze. According to the YouTube clip description, the video of SHS seniors in the school cafeteria was uploaded Wednesday.

Twitter Explodes with Christiano's Love

News broke Friday night that Syosset's most famous Italian restaurant, Christiano's, would be closing. Since then, Syosset residents, neighbors, and Billy Joel fans have been reacting with anger, disappointment, and sadness on social media.

Chipotle Opening Delayed – Again

According to store representatives, Chipotle Mexican Grill, located on Jericho Turnpike, will open March 7. Employees said that because construction had not yet been completed on their parking lot, officials asked the restaurant to postpone the opening another week.

Cops ID Driver in High Speed DWI

David Thompson, 32, of Far Rockaway, faces DWI, reckless driving, and speeding charges after police say they engaged him in a high speed chase across county lines and into a Syosset construction site. Cops have said Thompson was drunk at the time of the chase.

None Hurt in Gas Main Breach

According to Assistant Fire Chief Pete Silver, a construction crew was digging a hole outside when they ruptured a natural gas line. National Grid crews were called to the scene to secure the line and prevent any further danger.

In Syosset, a report of slashed tired was filed on Edgewood Drve, according to police. Later in the week, windows were smashed on a car at Retro Fitness in Syosset.
