Winter Storm Watch in Effect for Syosset

Syosset expected to get more snow Tuesday; sleet, rain and ice mix likely.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the northeast and is calling for up to 3 inches of snow, sleet and ice Tuesday, in what could make for a commuters nightmare for Syosset residents.

Snow is likely to start accumulating Monday night, with only about a half inch expected. On Tuesday, however, a mix of freezing rain, snow and sleet is expected to reach up to 3 inches, in what could make for some very dangerous street conditions.

On Wednesday, expect more of the same, as the NWS says that rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before noon is expected, then rain and sleet afterwards, with total accumulation reaching three quarters of an inch.
