3:43 p.m.: We're going to bid adieu to this blog for Saturday, but don't forget, the carnival portion lasts until 11 p.m. tonight. Tomorrow the street fair is 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and the carnival is 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

3:38 p.m.: Saying high to congressional candidate Howie Kudler.

3:33 p.m.: Might want to toss on a little sunscreen if you're coming now. The sun's gotten warmer.

2:57 p.m.: We had a candy delivery at the Syosset Patch booth. Come dig in.

2:49 p.m.: Gentleman just came up to me. "So you're the famous Josh Stewart?" He loves the site. Hmm...Wondering how the home office would feel about "The Famous Josh Stewart" on my business cards...

2:35 p.m.: Bubble-blowing guns a popular purchase today.

2:29 p.m.: Just posted photos of Long Island Extreme Cheerleading and Alive-N-Kickin'

2:18 p.m.: Alive-N-Kickin' on a break, but will be back for two more sets.

1:59 p.m.: Just loaded photos of some of the vendors next to the Patch booth. Don't miss out on a good bargain!

1:52 p.m.: Just got a thank-you e-mail from something thinking about coming who appreciated the updates. You are so welcome!

1:45 p.m.: Alive-N-Kickin' is proving true to its name on stage right now. Don't miss out.

1:30 p.m.: Took a break over at Cardinali Bakery. Enjoy the street vendors but don't forget your local businesses.

1:15 p.m.: Took a little time to take some photos and charge ye old computer. Will be back with more live-blogging in a bit.

12:30 p.m.: Booth with, like, 9,000 handbags. Maybe my wife shouldn't come here tomorrow.

12:23 p.m.: Why is is so hard to get a dog to pose?

12:20 p.m.: Island Extreme Cheerleaders perform at 12:45 p.m.

12:04 p.m.: A lady just looked at the site for the first time and said, Very cheery!" before signing up. We'll take that.

11:54 a.m.: Somebody just came over and joked that I was next to the hair-removal tent. Folks, Mother Nature is taking care of that just fine, thank you very much!

11:50 a.m.: Patch user just came over me. How did he describe the site? "Very informative." That's what we're here for.

11:42 a.m.: Forget lunch! That's the best-smelling popcorn I've ever smelled. Or is is smelt? No matter.

11:40 a.m.: A woman hadn't heard of Patch before. But once I told her about it she was signed up in 30 seconds. Nice!

11:26 a.m.: Shameless moment of the day No. 1: Folks asking their pre-K scrubmuffins to grab free swag off tables. Hey, if I had a kid I'd do it, too. What are they here for, anyway?

11:23 a.m.: Don't forget Sunday's feature band, East Coast, who will take the stage at 1 p.m.

11:13 a.m.: New photos are up; now I can start planning for the most important part of the day–lunch!

10:57 a.m.: Some extreme cheerleading will take place near the stage at 12:45 p.m., preceding the 1 p.m. concert by Alive-N-Kickin'.

10:54 a.m.: Yeah, this is going to be like the St. Edward's Festival: Expect lots of pics of cute dogs. We'll have some up in a bit.

10:51 a.m.: National anthem was just played, followed by moment of silence in remembrance of 9/11.

10:38 p.m.: Gotta thank the Town of Oyster Bay for the use of one of their trash cans as a chair. Promise I'll have one here in a little bit.

10:36: Chatting with Laura and Rob Schultz from Residents for a More Beautiful Syosset.

10:25 a.m.: Not your average "booth." Check out new pics of the spread De Benedittis Landscaping laid out. Very cool!

10:11 a.m.: Today's feature musical act, Alive-N-Kickin', takes the stage at 1 p.m.

10:08 a.m.: Just signed up a new Patch user. Come by our booth to sign up. It takes all of 15 seconds, you'll get breaking news alerts and weekly recaps, you'll be able to add your own announcements to the site, and you can pick up some Patch goodies.

9:55 a.m.: Just had the first "guy not realizing he's singing a girl lyric" moment of the day: Gentleman crooning chorus to No Doubt's "I'm Just a Girl" while walking by as song blared on loud speaker.

9:46 a.m.: We are live at the Syosset Chamber of Commerce Street Festival & Carnival downtown. The street festival is from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. today and Sunday. The carnival is in the LIRR parking lot from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Stop by the Syosset Patch booth across from Steve's Piccola Bussola II.
