Birch Hill Market Closes Just Months After Its Debut

Jackson Avenue market took over D'Alessandro's earlier in the year.

Birch Hill Market has closed just months after taking over D'Alessandro's on Jackson Avenue.

The gourmet market on 29 Jackson Avenue was completely cleaned out and all signage removed on Tuesday. The Syosset location is second to the original Locust Valley Birch Hill Market. It sold fine meats and seafood, artisanal cheese, home made entrees, veggies, sides dishes, fresh seafood, vegan dishes, gluten free dishes as well as a variety of imported and specialty products.

A number of similar specialty markets have opened in the Syosset-Woodbury including J's Market which opened on Jackson Avenue Oct. 16 and Fresh Market which will open in Woodbury Commons on Nov. 13.
