DSW Opens in Syosset

The shoe giant opened their doors this week on Jericho Turnpike.

DSW shoe retailer has officially opened its doors, more than a year after and worried the community about the future of the business district.

DSW opened Thursday and has had a full parking lot since. The store will be open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sundays.

The announcement that the shoe giant was moving into town came this spring when the

The Syosset Borders officially closed their doors in September 2011, after months of speculation, bankruptcy confirmation, and everything-must-go sales. The property was briefly inhabited by Spirit Halloween, a short-term Halloween store. See a full recap of the Borders lifespan here.

DSW representatives could not be reached for an official grand opening date as of this report. Patch will update as more information becomes available.
