DSW to Replace Borders This Fall

Months of vacancy and lease hangups end in a tenant for the bankrupt booksellers' former home.

Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) will replace the store in Syosset, reported Newsday on Tuesday. The discount shoe seller will reportedly move into the bankrupt booksellers' former home this fall.

A DSW representative could not be reached Tuesday.

"There's not a lot of space available, so it's not been difficult to re-lease them," Sondock said of the former book chain's locations on Long Island. Borders filed for bankruptcy and closed all its stores last year, including its last six stores on Long Island.
