Elite North Shore Realty Celebrates Grand Opening

Former Syosset resident expands his business to Jackson Avenue.

Joseph Lovaglio said he ordered too much food for his grand opening Friday.

"It's the Italian in me," he joked.

You can't blame a businessman for thinking big, and that's why the 17-year real estate professional opened the doors of Elite North Shore Realty at 116 Jackson Ave. Already the owner of JDS North Shore Realty in Glen Cove, Lovaglio wants to increase his exposure on the North Shore for when the market becomes less bearish.

"When you have a presence in the town it's easier to get listings," Lovaglio said.

The 48-year-old broker isn't a novice when it comes to Syosset. He lived here from 1992-98 and said the thought of moving back--he lives in Glen Cove--has crossed his mind. But already he likes what he sees in coming back to the community.

He empathized when told about a recent Syosset Patch story relating the frustrations of downtown business owners. But he added that the area doesn't have nearly the empty storefront space that Glen Cove is saddled with, which is a very positive sign long-term.

Lovaglio handles both residential and commercial properties and refers to himself as a "one-stop shop" because he also handles mortgages. He hopes to earn the trust of his new audience.

"You've got to be good to people," Lovaglio said. "In this business they will tell people that they worked with you. It's a question of whether they say something good or say something bad."
