Empty in Syosset: Former Blockbuster Video

What do you think should replace the former Blockbuster?

Last month's . One of the reasons that improvement was tiny and not terrific is the closing of businesses. Although Borders is the most prominent empty business in Syosset, a scenic trip down Jericho Turnpike involves a lot of For Sale and Office Space signs.

Syosset Patch will be highlighting those empty buildings in the neighborhood, asking our readers what should replace it.

This week, we're looking at the former property.

. The 5,400 square foot interior space looks brand new with picture windows along the east side of the building. Owned by First Development Corporation in Hauppauge, the property is described as prime corner real estate for any business, with almost 38,000 cars passing it each day on South Oyster Bay Road and Jericho Turnpike.

What should replace the former Blockbuster Video? The Centre shopping complex has a diverse range of establishments, from eateries to toy stores. Should the space be filled with something different?

Tell us in the comments! If you have an idea, are a neighbor who has seen some action on the property, or a realtor with information, tell us in the comments, on Facebook or tweet us @SyossetPatch.
