Syosset Celebrates LI Restaurant Week

Catch up with the hottest dishes for this week's promotion.

With Long Island Restaurant Week entering its weekend phase, restauranteurs in Syosset say they have enjoyed the opportunity and the response by customers.

"We always have good prices, but with restaurant week we pick it up a notch," said manager Jason Machado.

During restaurant week, participating restaurants offer a three-course, prix fixe menu for $24.95, which includes an appetizer, entree, and a dessert.

Additionally, as part of the week, restaurant-goers are encouraged to donate non-perishable foods, supermarket gift cards, or cash funds to Island Harvest, of which organizers say have contributed 1200 pounds of food.

Machado offered his top picks on the 516 Kitchen's menu.  Machado recommended the Sauteed Mussel Pot appetizer, the Blackened Fish Flatbread which is tilapia served on a flatbread with corn salsa and cilantro lime aioli, but also pointed our that the 516 Loaded Burger was a local favorite.
