After months of no action, construction has finally begun on a new Panera Bread in Syosset. The popular eatery will open in med-February and occupy the former Dom & Luigi's Smokehouse Pizzeria.
Panera Spokeswoman Kate Antonacci said that the new location will be operated by Doherty Enterprises, and that that opening is slated for mid-February.
