began liquidation sales this week in preparation to close the pharmacy's Syosset branch. The liquidation sale, which places all non-pharmaceutical items on sale at 50 percent off, will be the deciding factor on when the Jackson Avenue pharmacy closes for good.

Some felt another pharmacy would be most fitting, but worried it would meet the same fate.
"It would be nice to see Walgreens or a local grocery market go in there but I fear it will lie vacant for years. I hope I am wrong," wrote .
