Update: Late May Opening Planned for Panera

PR rep confirms the popular cafe will open their doors on Jericho Turnpike in May.

Syosset will have to wait a little longer for cobblestone muffins, fresh brewed coffee and free WiFi. Panera Bread, originally planned to open their doors in mid-February, is now due to open in late May, according to Doherty Enterprises public relations representative Pat Friia.

According to Panera spokeswoman Kate Antonacci, the Syosset Panera on Jericho Turnpike will be a franchise cafe, owned an operated by Doherty Enterprises, Inc. rather than directly by Panera.

, 55 percent of Patch readers are excited for the popular eatery to open. 29 percent said they are happy the former home of Dom & Luigi's Smokehouse Pizzeria will finally be occupied. 14 percent felt it could have been replaced with something better.
