Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island Opens Its 11th Location in Plainview

Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI) is proud to announce the opening of their newest location in Plainview. The new office, located at 732 Old Country Road, will provide comprehensive, high-quality ophthalmic eye care to the Plainview community and the surrounding area.

This latest addition to the OCLI team was formerly the practice of LoPinto Eye Associates. Ronald J. LoPinto, MD, has been named Partner at OCLI, and Mario Fracassa, MD has been named Associate at OCLI. They will continue to treat patients on a full-time basis in the OCLI Plainview office. Daniel Garibaldi, MD and Partner at OCLI, will also be working in this location. In July 2014, OCLI Plainview will be welcoming Eric Sigler, MD and Nikola Ragusa, MD. These board certified eye physicians specialize in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and glaucoma & cataract surgery respectively.

Dr. Ronald J. LoPinto is a board certified ophthalmologist who has been in practice for nearly 25 years. He interned at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset and completed his ophthalmology residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Following his training, he was senior surgeon at the Rand Eye Institute in Deerfield Beach, Florida, where he remained on staff for 12 years. Since 1999, he has been in private practice in Plainview. He has expertise in small-incision, sutureless cataract surgery, multifocal (ReStor, ReZoom, Tecnis), accommodative (Crystalens), and toric (astigmatism correcting) intraocular lens implants, and laser refractive surgeryDr. LoPinto has performed over 10,000 surgical and laser eye procedures. He is on staff at Island Eye Surgicenter, as well as North Shore University Hospitals in Syosset and Plainview. Dr. LoPinto is certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, and New York State Ophthalmological Society.

Dr. Fracassa has been practicing ophthalmology in Plainview since 1974. After graduating from New York Medical College, Dr. Fracassa served his surgical internship at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City. He then entered his ophthalmology residency training at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow. This was followed by a retina fellowship at Cornell Hospital Center in New York City. Dr. Fracassa is an active staff member at North Shore University Hospital in Plainview where he also serves as chief of the Ophthalmology service. Society memberships include the New York State Medical Society, The Long Island Ophthalmological Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
