Adelphi Forum to Teach Nutrition-Breast Cancer Risk
Program will hold a free forum dedicated to nutrition and preventing breast cancer.
Preventing breast cancer recurrence can be as easy as taking an extra scoop of vegetables at dinner or limiting yourself to one glass of wine per day. Nutrition is a significant factor in the risk of developing breast cancer. But what exactly should you be eating or avoiding?
Adelphi wants everyone to know what to put on their plates at mealtime, so it is sponsoring a free forum to provide nutritional information regarding breast cancer. Three panelists who are making strides in the nutritional side of breast cancer will speak on Nov. 1 about weight management and muscle and bone health after breast cancer treatment.
The panel -- James D'Olimpio, MD of Montefiore Cancer Center, Jessica Iannotta MS, RD, CSO, CDN, a specialist in oncology nutrition, and Hillary Murray, a clinical dietitian -- will cover the proper nutrition and safe weight management for before, during and after cancer treatment.
