Blue Ribbon 5K Rescheduled, Relocated

Run that funds prostate cancer research will be at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park Dec. 9.

The 2012 Blue Ribbon 5K Run for Prostate Cancer was rescheduled to Dec. 9 as the area continues to recover from Hurricane Sandy.

The 5K, originally scheduled for this past Sunday, will be held at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park Dec. 9 at 9:30 a.m.

“It is never an easy task to have to postpone  an event, not to mention having to move it to a different location,” said Greater Long Island Running Club Chief Administrative Officer Linda Ottaviano.

“Fortunately, with the enthusiastic cooperation of Town Supervisor [John] Venditto and the Town of Oyster Bay Parks Department, we have been able to reschedule the event and relocate it to the scenic grounds of Syosset-Woodbury Community Park,” said Rhonda Samuel, Executive Director of  Integrated Medical Foundation. IMF hosts the event.

Those who have registered for the run already do not have to complete any further paperwork. Those who wish to register may do so at the GLIRC website.
