Book Discussion Returns to Library

Happy Tuesday to you, and welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today." Each weekday we'll be putting a little extra spotlight on some of the things that are going on in the Syosset area. While we do our best to keep up with what's going on, we can always use your help. If you don't see something that should be on the list, don't be afraid to let us know!

1. Today's 1 p.m. book discussion at the Syosset Public Library will feature Hillary Jordan's novel Mudbound. If you want to become a part of the monthly discussion, copies of books are available at the library one month before each discussion.

2. Syosset's boys volleyball team returns to the court today, hosting Massapequa at 4:45 p.m. 

3. The choirs of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church need you! The Bell Choir is currently seeking new members. The group meets in the Assembly Room every Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m. The Senior Vocal Choir is also looking for new members. Come sing with us every Wednesday evening in the Choir Loft in the Nave at 7:45 p.m. Children of all ages who play a musical instrument are welcome to play for Sunday Services during communion. 4. The Syosset Fire Department Board of Fire Commissioners, which was initially scheduled to meet tonight at 7 p.m., will now meet Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at department HQ, 50 Cold Spring Rd. 

5. Syosset Gospel Church's prayer meeting is tonight at 7 p.m.
