Dec. 2: Holiday Networking Event and Shopping

5 Things You Need to Know for Thursday, December 2.

Happy Thursday to you, and welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today." Each weekday we'll be putting a little extra spotlight on some of the things that are going on in the Syosset area. While we do our best to keep up with what's going on, we can always use your help. If you don't see something that should be on the list, don't be afraid to let us know!

1. The boys/girls bowling team has their , when they take on Massapequa High School at 4:15 p.m. at Farmingdale Lanes in Farmingdale. Come out and support the team!

2. The holds the "Taproot Workshops" at 2 p.m.

3. The library also holds the  program from 10-11 a.m. The program, for kids aged 18 months to four years, allows kids to dance, sing and play with costumes, musical instruments, puppets and more. But, no siblings, please! Limited registration for Syosset School District Residents began on November 17, and the program cost $3.  Please call the library at 516-921-7161 to check for availability for all programs. 

4. Head to the hosted by the Long Island Pet Professionals. The meeting will be held at the Marriott Residence Inn in Plainview at 7:30 pm in the Terrace Room

Pet Professionals from across Long Island are expected to come and welcome Members, Non-Members and those interested in getting into the pet industry to come and join us on this festive and fun networking event!

5. Get some holiday shopping done and help support your local businesses at the same time:  d,  and  are just a few stores you can visit!
