Bollinger's Closes its Doors on Sunday 

Sunday is sure to be a sentimental day for Farmingdale residents as they say goodbye to Bollinger's Family Restaurant, a Main Street staple that is closing for good.

The old-fashioned ice cream parlor dates back to the 1900's, when it opened as Von Leesen's. Fred Bollinger took over and renamed it more than a decade ago before retiring in October 2010 and selling it to current owners Jim Brennan and Joe Tinisi.

Urgency to build a new Coliseum was conveyed at Tuesday's Nassau Legislature Economic and Community Development and Labor meeting.

17 Arrests Made for Forged Prescriptions; 8 Busted in Hicksville

Seventeen people, including eight at a CVS pharmacy in Hicksville, face felony charges of forging prescriptions at various pharmacies throughout Nassau  County.

Eight of those arrested had attempted to fill forged prescriptions to obtain painkillers at the CVS in Hicksville, at the corner of Old Country Road and Newbridge Road, authorities said.
