Hello and welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today," the Monday edition.
Presidents' Day is here and some of us lucky enough to call it a three day weekend. Since most have the day off today, why not take advantage of some cool events and activities happening around town?
- All schools are closed this week and the post office is closed today because of Presidents' Day.
- - The Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum holds this event for kids, who can create a pirate craft and watch the film "Muppet Treasure Island" with the film being shown at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Free with museum admission.
- The film will be showing at the at 2:30 p.m. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult and seating is first come, first served so be sure to make it there early.
- at a Nassau County Park - Reservations take place at Cantiague Park in Hicksville. A valid leisure pass and appropriate payment must be presented to obtain a confirmed reservation.
