Feb. 21: Presidents' Day

5 Things you need to know for Monday.

Hello and welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today," the Monday edition.

Presidents' Day is here and some of us lucky enough to call it a three day weekend. Since most have the day off today, why not take advantage of some cool events and activities happening around town?

  1. All schools are closed this week and the post office is closed today because of Presidents' Day.  
  2. - The Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum holds this event for kids, who can create a pirate craft and watch the film "Muppet Treasure Island" with the film being shown at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Free with museum admission.
  3. The film will be showing at the at 2:30 p.m. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult and seating is first come, first served so be sure to make it there early. 
  4. at a Nassau County Park - Reservations take place at Cantiague Park in Hicksville.  A valid leisure pass and appropriate payment must be presented to obtain a confirmed reservation.
