Here are a few fun things to do this weekend.

Why Go: Support Last Hope, the Long Island pet adoption and community outreach program; bric-a-brac, Christmas items and jewelry will be on sale.

When: Oct. 28, 7 p.m.

Why Go: Come see Syosset students perform original one-act plays at the high school as part of Theater Arts.

 

Where: 221 South St, Oyster Bay

When: Oct. 27, 5 p.m.

What to Do: Pumpkin painting, snacks and apple cider, Halloween games, costume contest with prizes, discount on Halloween items.

Price: FREE

 

Where: Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium

When: All weekend, 6-8 p.m.

What to Do: Flashlight sightings of spooky catfish, pumpkin seed sunfish, and walks around the 128-year-old hatchery… you might catch some former trout stripping staff there. Call (516) 692-6768 for more information.

Price: FREE for members, $6 for adults, $4 for children and seniors

 

Howl-Ween: Corky’s Canine Costume Parade

Where: 93 Main St, Cold Spring Harbor 

When: Oct. 29, 1 p.m.

Why Go: street sale, live music, and the biggest gathering of puppies in costumes on Long Island...What could be better?

Price: Free to attend, but a donation of $10 is recommended per dog.

 

Where: Nassau Art Museum

When: Oct. 29, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the Day of the Dead, the Mexican and Latin American holiday with interactive tours, traditional crafts, music and a parade at 1pm. Wear your costume! 

Price: Free with admission

 

Where: Downtown Oyster Bay

When: Oct. 28, 10 a.m.

Why Go: Pick up fresh fruits and vegetables, farm and dairy products, and other items at the farmer's market in downtown Oyster Bay. Come down and Help support local farming.
