Home-Selling Tips: Keep It Uncluttered

Minor projects can go a long way.

When trying to maximize your home's potential for sale, many cosmetic changes can be made with minimal time and expense. Buyers will be comparing your property to competing properties. Here are some tips to help yours stand out above the rest.

Unclutter: Eliminating clutter will make your property feel larger and brighter. If your property is uncluttered and neutral, prospective buyers can explore it comfortably and envision it with their own personal touches. Remember, first impressions go a long way.

Create Curb Appeal: Make sure that the lawn in mowed and flower beds are clear of weeds, underbrush and other debris. Consider putting a potted flowering plant on the front stoop. Put garbage cans away behind the house or in a shed or garage.

Repair and Repaint: Apply a fresh coat of neutral colored paint; replace broken lighting, along with bath and kitchen fixtures. Use bright light bulbs, fix all squeaks and leaks, patch walls, and make sure all doors operate smoothly.
