Homes By Mara Realty Welcomes Plainview's Olivia YuChan

Olivia YuChan is the latest real estate agent to join in Syosset.

YuChan, who comes from Shawn Elliott Luxury Homes & Estates LLC in Woodbury, said that she was intrigued by Homes By Mara’s boutique operation.

“By working within a boutique real estate brokerage, there is an apparent friendship and level of support that is mutually extended among all its agents,” YuChan said.

YuChan, who is of Chinese decent, is fluent in Mandarin and a good command in Japanese, a skill she uses to serve Long Island’s ever growing Asian community.

“There are a high influx of home buyers and investors from China today who are looking to acquire properties on Long Island; however, not all of them speak English and not all are always comfortable conversing in the English language,” YuChan said.

Highly efficient in servicing the real estate market, YuChan earned the "Lowest Average Days on the Market" Award from Shawn Elliott Luxury Homes & Estates LLC in 2009.

Homes By Mara President Mara Navaretta said that she is delighted to have YuChan on her team.

Servicing the real estate sector since 2004, YuChan started as trainee with in Syosset, and eventually worked with Long Island Real Estate Inc. in Syosset until the agency was acquired by Shawn Elliott Luxury Homes & Estates LLC. 

Before entering real estate, she was a research analyst assistant to the vice president of capital services within the investment banking division of large Japanese bank, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, in New York City.

YuChan, who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from the University of Albany, lived in both Jericho and Westbury before establishing her roots in Plainview in 2002.
