Jan. 17: High School Freshmen Orientation

A rundown of events and reminders for Thursday in Syosset and Woodbury.

1. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with temperatures peaking at 41 degrees.

2. Syosset's Chamber of Commerce meets at 8:30 a.m. at the new Toast & Tapas. Check out how the Chamber is kicking off 2013.

3. Syosset High School incoming freshmen have a Student-Parent Orientation at 7 p.m.

4. Head to Syosset Library at 9:45 a.m. for Toddler Playtime.

5. Cheer the Braves:

  • 5 p.m. Boys Basketball @ Farmingdale
  • 6:30 p.m. Girls Basketball vs. Farmingdale @ Home
