July 20: Mercy First Special Olympics Event

• The heat wave continues today - temperatures are expected to reach 89 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. But that doesn't even compare to Friday, where temps are expected to touch 96! Remember to stay hydrated and keep cool anyway you can.
• The 1st Annual takes place today at in Syosset from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cold Spring HIlls Adult Day Health Care is teaming up with Special Olympics to host the event.
• Today is the last day to check out the in Oyster Bay - head to the Life Enrichment Center (45 E. Main Street) and call 516 922-1770 for more information.
• The in Plainview also takes place today.
• The program "Caring for the Caregiver" will be held at from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. This is a support group for the "overworked, overstressed and exhausted caregiver." These support groups are led by trained facilitators who are or have been caregivers themselves. Check out the for more info.
