July 29: Jackson Avenue Closure

A rundown of Friday's major events and announcements.

TGIF Syosset! There is a lot going on in your town today. Please check below to see what's going on in Syosset and the surrounding areas:

  • There was a big last night on Jackson Avenue - police shut the street down as they worked on containing the water. As of 11:30 p.m. Thursday, the street was still closed, and police said they weren't sure when the street would be re-opened. Stay with us as more information becomes available.
  • The is showing the film today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The library also holds this morning at 10 a.m.
  • The Our Lady of Mercy continues today in Hicksville from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Check back with us for stories, today and this weekend - today, we'll post the Syosset football team's schedule for next season, list some upcoming open houses in Syosset, and on Saturday, we'll post a list of recent arrests and crimes from the Second Precinct.
