LICF Announces New Vice Chair

Long Island Community Foundation happily anticipates new Vice Chair Ira Halperin, Esq.

 

Syosset's Long Island Community Foundation announced Tuesday that Ira R. Halperin, Esq., will take over as Vice Chair of its board of directors. 

"It's an honor," said Halperin, a partner at . "Today, lots of charitable organizations need funding… [LICF] connects donors who have charitable thoughts in mind with those charities most in need."

LICF has been connecting those donors and charities since 1978, identifying current and future community needs with generous donors who can help meet them. In making more than $130 million in grants from hundreds of individually established funds, LICF has become one of the country's largest and oldest community foundations.

"Ira brings immeasurable commitment and vision to his work with LICF," said the organization's executive director David M. Okorn, citing Halperin's business leadership as an attorney and CPA as a way to push the business forward in meeting the "ever-changing needs of Long Island."
