LIPA: Syosset Has Highest Outage Report in Town

Woodbury hovers around average.

On the two week anniversary of when everyone awoke to the post-Sandy warzone, over 600 Syosset and Woodbury homes remain without power and heat.

According to Long Island Power Authority, Syosset's 535 outages are the highest of any other township or village in Town of Oyster Bay. Close counterpart Woodbury is hovering around the average amount of outages at 81 homes. This number is down from

Nearby Plainview comes in second with 447 outages.

The average outage number for TOBAY's 33 villages and townships was 84 as of Tuesday.

Though Syosset and Woodbury's numbers are high, they are not the highest in Nassau County. Levittown reports double that amount, reaching 1,258 outages Tuesday. Oceanside followed with 732 reports.

LIPA representatives could not be reached as of this report's publication.
