The weekend is here, and there is plenty going on in and around town. Listed below are just five things we think you should know about for Saturday.

  1. at in Syosset -  from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Keynote speakers will be The Rev. Greg Johnson, from Emblem Health, and Craig Jennings, Founder and Creator of the Caring for the Caregiver Program, as well as speakers and representatives offering valuable information for caregivers and for those they care for. 
  2. at the - Starts at 9:30 a.m., free of charge. Call the library at 516-921-7161 for more info. 
  3. Head back to the library at 2 p.m. for a film showing of  An urban love story about the soul of a mother, the heart of a fighter and the faith of a child.
  4. at the Mariott Residence Inn in Plainview - Singles get to mingle while enjoying a comedy show. Ages 35-65. $35, cash only. Call 631-592-9804 for more info. 
  5. See at the Cultural Arts Playhouse in Plainview. Starts at 8 p.m, $20.
