May 30: Weather Update, Memorial Day Parade

Wondering what's going on in Syosset today? Look no further. "5 Things" is our daily post which is designed to give you just that - five important pieces of information which can either be event listings or announcements.

Here is what you need to know for Monday:

1. If you're planning on an early jog push it back until after 10 am to avoid thundershowers.  If you're planning a party, the prime daylight hours between noon and 4pm should be free and clear, at a high of 87 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.  After 4pm, plan for a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.

2. The starts at 10:00 at the on Humphrey Avenue and will proceed along Jackson Avenue to the on Underhill Boulevard. The parade will conclude with an 11:30 ceremony at the garden to honor the men and women who died serving our country, followed by hotdogs, ice cream, and refreshments at the Syosset VFW Post. 

3. Town of Oyster Bay beaches are OPEN as of Saturday and town officials recently announced that sticker prices will not go up from 2010
